Rent The Ranch Exclusive Occupancy
Groups can "Rent the Ranch". This includes EXCLUSIVE OCCUPANCY of "The Ranch" and "The Town". This is a fantastic location for that family reunion, team building off-site or corporate mini conference. Your group can achieve a full level of accommodation with a mix of double, twin and bunkhouse accommodations. The Rent the Ranch Rate is for 20 people. In situations where a few extra numbers are requested, we accommodate in The Town or in Bunkhouse accommodation below the Town and a charge of $150-00 each per extra person per night is made which includes all meals. Refer ‘Accommodation’ for details of all types of capacity and ‘Activities’ for our included activities.
Seating for 20+
As we are generally operating with a maximum of 20 people, seating is generally restricted to this number in the Saloon and Courthouse. For Rent The Ranch groups we extend this seating capacity.
Transport In
The best option is a Minivan with driver arranged from Raetihi, or Wanganui. Details of this service are available from the Ranch. This can transport groups in and out. We do have a Helipad for helicopter arrivals. The best Airports to arrive from are Wanganui or Taupo.
Cowboy Club Events
Various western, cowboy action shooting & fast draw clubs hold events and competitions during the year. While generally exclusive to members, potential members or interested parties can often attend to learn more about their particular interest area as a prospective new member. Clubs should contact us to make arrangements for a group visit or exclusive use of the town.
Corporate Retreats
Mellonsfolly Ranch is an ideal Mini Conference location. Conference seating for up to 20 is available in the Courthouse which incorporates a hidden big screen for 'Power Point' presentations. Use the Judge’s Bench or the Preacher’s Pulpit. Contained within the building are computer input facilities, music systems, DVD and Video play facilities all to a big screen. The Courthouse has a dual role. It also doubles as a movie theatre for evening entertainment and the screening of classic western movies and old western TV episodes. Remember no ties are allowed!
Groups enthusiastic about 'The West' will find Mellonsfolly Ranch the perfect place to get together and do some cowboy activities. Enjoy wildlife encounters, Gunslinging, Horse shoe pitching, Snooker or Pool and in the evening cowboy cookouts or campfire evenings under a blanket of stars, all to the sound of western music. Photo expeditions are also a popular pastime. We do not cater for Horse trekking but can provide Motorised Horse Treks on our Ranger Patrol vehicles.
